WMI Completes Shaw Brothers Corporate Office

Windham Millwork, Inc has completed the Shaw Brothers Construction Corporate Office. This project displays the outstanding craftsmanship and beauty that Windham Millwork, Inc brings to the table. WMI took control by installing and furnishing the interior woodwork. Above all, mahogany wainscot covers the entire building with beautiful casework and countertops in all the offices.

A grand stairwell with a combination of metal, wood and glass was also constructed by WMI. Furthermore, a beautiful reception desk, ceiling panels, trim, stair rail, conference tables, door frames and window sills were some of the other features on this project. One of the most impressive pieces of the project was the massive 48′ master conference table. The conference table was an inlaid granite top with mahogany nosing . In conclusion, this project is a show-piece that exemplifies the perfection and quality WMI continues to offer the commercial industry.

Jay Peak Resort Close to Completion

Windham Millwork, Inc is finishing up its fourth project, Hotel Jay and Conference Center and Pump House Indoor Waterpark, at Jay Peak Resort in Jay Peak, Vermont. WMI has already completed three projects at the resort including Tram Haus Lodge, Ice Haus Arena, and the Clubhouse.

Hotel Jay and Conference Center is a multi-million-dollar project for WMI. With 120 plus rooms in the hotel it makes for a large millwork job. Additionally, WMI took this project head on by manufacturing and installing over 1,800 cabinets. Reception desks, granite countertops, conference rooms, custom branded Jay Peak logo sills, board rooms, spa, retail stores, casework and tops in the cabanas at the waterpark and over three restaurants are some of the other items WMI has furnished and installed on the project. Additionally, an impressive 140′ bar overlooking the indoor waterpark is a must see. This project speaks volumes of our custom woodworking. Above all, the ability to work on a tight schedule to get the job done before the season picked up for visitors.

The expansion at Jay Peak Resort has been a privilege to be apart of for WMI. In conclusion, the end result will showcase the high-quality work WMI provides on every project.

WMI is Awarded The Oxford Casino in Maine

Windham Millwork, Inc has been awarded the highly anticipated Oxford Casino in Oxford, Maine. This is not the first Casino WMI has been awarded. Hollywood Slots Hotel and Raceway in Bangor, Maine and Hollywood Casino Perryville in Perryville, Maryland are the most recent casino projects WMI has been a part of.

At the Oxford Casino WMI will be responsible for the bars, sales counters, buffett casework, trim, banquet seating and bathroom vanities. This project will once again showcase WMI high quality architectural woodwork. The completion date is for memorial day 2012.

WMI Is Awarded The Bangor Event Center

Windham Millwork, Inc has been awarded the Bangor Event Center in Bangor, Maine. The event center will be the new site for conferences, sporting events and shows in the Bangor area. Above all, the new conference center and arena will hold up to 8,000 people with 10 sky boxes and a party suite.

WMI will be responsible for the woodwork in the locker rooms, suite casework and countertops, trim, wood handrails, three bars, recession areas and administration casework. The new center will be connecting and overpass to Hollywood Slots and Hotel, a project WMI completed a few years back. In conclusion, this project will be very significant for the state of Maine and the city of Bangor and Windham Millwork, Inc is proud to be a part of it.

WMI Achieves AWI, QCP and FSC ® Certifications

WMI achieves AWI certification. Windham Millwork, Inc has achieved significant certifications in the woodworking industry. WMI takes pride in the quality they produce and especially the process to create that quality under the Architectural Woodwork Institute Standards. WMI, which is a member of the Architectural Woodwork Institute (AWI), has achieved both the AWI Quality Certification Program (QCP) and also FSC ® Certification.

AWI Quality Certification Program (QCP is a valuable quality assurance tool that ensures custom, interior architectural woodwork, one of the most highly visible aspects of many construction projects. Comprehensive testing and inspecting leads WMI to earn certification. WMI had to demonstrate the ability to fabricate, finish and/or install work in accordance with the quality grade criteria set forth in the Architectural Woodwork Standards (AWS). This certification is vital to WMI and validates its commitment to quality through AWI standards. WMI achieves AWI certification due to meeting strict requirements and quality levels.

The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) ® Certification is a mechanism for WMI to demonstrate our commitment to the FSC ® Principles and Criteria for responsible forest management and be part of the FSC ® solution. In conclusion, WMI takes great pride in this process and what the FSC ® stands for.

WMI Invests in New 3D Millwork Technology

Windham Millwork, Inc has invested heavily in AutoCad Inventor for their draftsmen. Investing in this new 3D Millwork technology will enable Windham Millwork to participate in the designing, visualizing and simulating steps of future products and projects. This ability allows flexibility to make changes, increase accuracy of drawings and to create a direct link between manufacturing and design. The software also links the program to the floor machinery allowing for more efficient production.

WMI can also use this software for presentation purposes to potential customers. The ability through 3D millwork technology design to give a better prototype and understanding of their products and how it will work in their environment. In conclusion, this tool is vital for visualizing the outcome of a project and the specifics involving complex projects.
